Senior photographer | Waterloo, IA | Backbone State Park

Elizabeth was a great subject to photographic with her easy-going personality and beautiful natural smiles. She is a dedicated band member at West High School in Waterloo and enjoys spending time in the mountains of Colorado in the summer. To include some of her interests, we decided to make her session into a 2-day event! 🙂  We couldn’t go anywhere without first hitting up Cottonwood Canyon for some hot latte’s/hot chocolate. After we were adequately caffeinated, we found some fun spots around downtown Waterloo and then ventured to backbone state park for day 2 to get some quality nature shots. I couldn’t post them all, but hopefully you enjoy getting a peak into this fun senior photo journey.

Amy + Caleb [Maternity]

What better time for a maternity session than a beautiful, cold and snowy Christmas Eve day! It was fun documenting the 7-month mark  of my older brother and his wife’s first baby-to-be. Amy said she was up for anything, which left things easy-going and open ended for our time together. 🙂 We were able to get a few shots at Ascension Lutheran Church in Ames, IA where my dad just happens to be the pastor. Then, we braved the chilly weather for a short time in God’s awesome winter wonderland at a park connected to my parents house. Thanks for a fun time you two! Blessings on the adventures of parenthood right around the corner!

Beautiful pictures!

Nathan [senior]

I had a fun time running around Ames with my little bro, Nathan capturing his winning personality. 😀 If it were up to my brother, I think he would really be OK with a 15 minute “let’s get one for the yearbook” type senior session. I guess that’s what you get when your sister enjoys photography and was really enjoying the change of scenery shooting in Ames. I was happy to have my future assistant (my younger sister) tag along and she couldn’t help weaseling her way into a shot.

Overall I think Nathan ended up having a good time… see what you think. 😉
