Ellie is a senior at Hudson high school and is someone I’ve gotten to know through our church, Ascension Lutheran Church in Waterloo. It’s kind of crazy because I remember her as the quiet kid in church who I always thought was such a pretty little girl. Now, she’s all grown up and still just as pretty. Ellie is someone who is almost impossible to take a bad photograph of. She was definitely a natural in front of the camera and I had a lot of fun capturing her downtown Cedar Falls and at Prairie Lakes Park. Blessings to her on the big senior year and whatever she pursues in the next chapter

I had the chance to photograph Josh’s older brother, Adam last year and it’s amazing how different two siblings can be. They’re both great in their own way, but definitely have different personalities and different interests. It was fun spending the afternoon with Josh and trying to capture his personality. He’s a very smart student with a very hard work ethic who is pursuing a challenging class load along with being involved in marching band and drama. I wish him all the best in his senior year and future pursuits!

Waterloo Wedding Photography | Sunnyside Country Club

This wedding presented a jam-packed day complete with a trip downtown during the main street sidewalk sales, a classy trolley escort, tasty donut towers and a couple bean bag toss games setup at the reception. Caitlin and Jordan were an easy-going couple with some great ideas for their special day. Jordan is a software developer at QCI, so he masterminded a way to project guests photos at the reception through a program called “tweet beam”. It was a lot of fun for all the guests to tweet their photos from the day with the designated hash tag and see their images flash on the big screen. Another cool idea was having colored glow sticks for the guests to enjoy during the dance. The bright glowing colors scattered on the dance floor made capturing the dance a fun and unique experience. I wish them all the best in their new journey as a married couple and new chapter in Des Moines!
