I had the privilege of capturing this small, intimate wedding at the Snowden House in Waterloo, Iowa. I love the character and beauty of this historic setting. I was connected to the couple through a mutual acquaintance and enjoyed spending the afternoon sharing in their wedding celebration. Hunter was the director for the Cedar Valley Music Festival and they both share a passion for music, so it was fun to listen to the music they had as part of their ceremony. I had to take a photo of the music scores because they were pretty incredible and difficult. People didn’t want to leave after the ceremony because the piano duet was that good! To Hunter & Kirsten: Blessings on your continued musical pursuits in Texas and the new life you now share as a married couple!
This was a beautiful, rustic, outdoor wedding at Whiterock Conservancy of Coon Rapids, IA. I definitely needed a GPS and printed map to find this gorgeous setting in rural Iowa toward the southwest part of the state. The rain started pouring down as I made my way Saturday morning, but I was happy to pass into a wave of sunshine that blessed the entire wedding day.
Their families live in different places, so Justin and Amber decided to land on a neutral site where they could enjoy the great outdoors–a fitting setting for the laid-back couple. They found me online and it was a privilege to jump into their lives and be a part of their special wedding day. They live in Salt Lake City, Utah and their love for adventure and the outdoors made me feel like we could be friends. I loved all the time and attention to awesome decorations, a unity fire, evening entertainment of a couple hawks, dessert of pie and culvers ice cream and a night ending in a classy barn dance. Blessings on your new adventure as a married couple!
A special shout-out to my assistant for the day, my lovely sister Michaela, who captured a couple of these images.
